Here is a horse whose photos have never really done him proper justice...

This lovely old stallion is one of three breeding sons in Australia of the "million dollar horse" Simeon Sadik expUK (Asfour x Simeon Safanad), he strongly resembles his paternal half brother Simeon Sochain (from Simeon Simona).

Sandek is from one Simeon stud's premier broodmares, Simeon Sheba, who was a 3/4 sister to World, USA, Canadian and Scottsdale Champion Stallion, Simeon Shai expUSA (Ra'Adin Royal Star x Simeon Safanad), being by Ra-Adin Royal Star and from their foundation [Egyptian] mare 27 Ibn Galal V.

Sheba is also the dam of current Australian Champion mare Simeon Sehavi (by Asfour). Thus Simeon Sandek is Sehavi's 3/4 brother.

Sandy is a compact and strongly built horse with excellent movement and the most loving of personalities, he is a real character. For some years now he has been quietly breeding lovely foals for Sweet Meadows Arabians in Bunyip, VIC, where he is a well-kept secret.

Photographed in April 2008 in full winter coat and with no preparation, this is the horse 'au natural', in summer he is nearly purple in colour and he has sired black... he is the sort of animal you want to throw a saddle on and hoon away on.

This grand old gentleman is Sweet Meadows Gai Leigh, a 21 year old son of Avonsleigh Gaizon (Gai General x Questina) and out of Rosedale Shareena by Riaal iidUK x Shaletta.

Leigh might be looking his age but he apparently didn't feel it; he put on a good show for us of his long-reaching trot and he even threw in a few fun leaps as well.

Leigh has his AAROM at halter, with championships in purebred, open and galloway classes.

He is an approved riding pony sire, his Gainey type with huge black eyes, his quiet nature and awesome movement have all made him a successful sire of purebreds and derivatives.
